Centre for Future Learning - UCD

For this competition Moloney O’Beirne saw the Centre for Future Learning as a concept building, providing a highly flexible experimental space to learn and a dynamic hub where contact and integration can occur with the business community and international collaborators.

The complex site geometry imposed by the radially positioned Sutherland School of Law was the main generator of the building form.  Two interconnected wedge shaped blocks take their alignment from the extended site geometry and engage with the Quinn School of Business.

We sought to create a dynamic main elevation with a very open outward looking character, allowing passing traffic see all the activity and becoming an iconic symbol of the Centre for Future Learning.
