Waterpark College
The project consists of a 3600m² extension to the existing school buildings, a 200m2 Extension to the existing PE Hall, as well as the appropriate refurbishment of three existing buildings which include the 3-Storey Protected Structure, & 2 Storey extension.
The three main components of the new building, the Classroom Block, the GP Hall and the Link Corridor have been articulated separately within the overall architectural composition of the Campus.
The link building has a lightweight timber clad structure highlighting that this is a transitional space leading to the new classroom block. Timber cladding has been used externally in response to architectural conservation preferences.
The main classroom block has been designed with rendered façade above a brick clad wall at Ground Floor Level. The placement of windows together with the vertical emphasis is a response to the elevational treatment of the 1939 block.
